Who We Are

Dan Weiss

Founder & CEO

For over 3 decades Dan has been an innovative  leader in the  home furnishings and design industry. As co-founder and CEO  of Lillian August for more than 25 years, Dan led the company to becoming one of the most enduring luxury home furnishing brands in the US. The achievements of the  iconic company he helped found;  incudes award winning interior design & showrooms, and multiple  long-term licensing programs with some of the country’s best manufacturing partners. In recent years, the company launched “LILLIAN,” its diffusion brand with great success through  TJX Companies  and most recently Costco.

In 2016, Dan leveraged his knowledge of vertical branding, design, licensing and worldwide sourcing and supply chain management to form Weiss Strategic. His initial engagement in 2016 with WeWork, resulted successful implimintation of  a vertical supply chain across multiple catagories,  which resulted in over 100mm in annual savings. Since then, Dan has worked with a variety of companies in hospitality,  commercial office and residential furnishings in the areas of business development, sourcing, licensing , design  and supply chain management. Dan has a BA  from Hampshire College, with a concentration in Economics and Political Science.

 

 

Eliza Weiss

Partner, Sourcing & Design

Having grown up in and around the furniture industry Eliza developed a passion and intuition for design at a young age. With a degree in Public Relations & Strategic Communications, Eliza has a great understanding of effective communications strategies and management skills that is essential to the execution of Weiss Strategic.

She has worked at the world leading brand licensing company Authentic Brands Group where she was a brand manager for the Thomasville, Drexel and Henredon brands and helped revive those brands from bankruptcy into million dollar businesses. During her time at ABG she also worked in the product development & merchandising division where she helped to oversee product for brands like Nautica, Juicy Couture and Vince Camuto. In addition to her licensing & merchandising experience she has also worked in fashion for top fashion PR agency KCD and has extensive retail experience working within the Andre Balasz Property Sunset Beach and at Pure Soul Design on Shelter Island. Eliza now works within her family business at Lillian August where she is a brand & marketing manager for the licensed collections and hopes to continue to grow her family brand. Eliza is attending Pratt Institute for a Masters Degree in Design Management (M.P.S) starting Fall 2021 where she is further educating herself on business and future thinking ideas for sustainability and design.
